Would you like to be part of this inspiring initiative that brings hope and physical comfort to those in need?

Work for Love is an open-minded approach to connecting and uplifting our local communities through relationships, literacy training, art, social empowerment, wellness and care-giving. It is our mission to support the process towards a new South African ‘Ubuntu’ community: I am because we are and we are because I am.

We aim to achieve this with our active, practical love, which is to say by volunteering to work in ways that genuinely express joy, faith, love and hope.

Through our personal engagement we become aware of the true needs as well as the available resources of our diverse, local communities. This awareness is the beginning of a creative, life-giving process.

By joining Work for Love, each volunteer receives the gift of involvement in community.

As a volunteer you are asked to develop a true appreciation of our country's cultural diversity as well as to make a sustainable time commitment, i.e. 2 hrs/week for 6 months. At Work for Love we will do our best to find a placement for you that will suit your timetable, interests, talents and enthusiasm.

Work for Love emphasises the importance of your personal wellness and therefore offers professionally facilitated self-awareness workshops for the volunteers on a regular basis.

If you are interested please fill in the form provided and we will invite you for an interview.

We encourage and support volunteers in finding and maintaining a placement in the community where they can offer and share what they truly love to do in a committed, effective and sustainable way. Our volunteers help at various play schools, the Sinethemba Special Care Centre, the Ukhanyo Primary School, the Wellness Morning or the youth group. Volunteers also offer training and tuition, facilitate self-awareness workshops and help with the administrative tasks of the organisation.
