We believe in volunteering
whenever possible while we recognize the need to pay stipends
for volunteers who experience financial difficulties and to
employ people to ensure the smooth and sustainable running of
the projects. 50 plus volunteer members are currently active,
including therapists, a homoeopath, a doctor, a nurse, a midwife,
nutrition advisors, massage trainers and trainees, educare
teachers, assistants and trainees, dancers, artists, tutors,
translators, field workers, a receptionist and administrative
volunteer staff.
Early on we recognized the
potential for building capacity in members of the communities we
serve. We are currently training three educare teachers, 7 field
workers and 14 women in the healing art of massage.
We are planning to employ our
project managers and trainers in the future in order to make it
possible to increase commitment levels as well as to make the
transition from pioneer initiative to sustainable project.
Management
Committee
For our motto of a healthy
social life to become a living reality it is especially
important to establish democratic structures and practices
within Work for Love, such as involving representatives from all
levels of the organization in the decision-making processes
through the establishment of a Management Committee. People with
knowledge and understanding of the community make management
decisions and provide vital links to the community. The
Management Committee takes all important management decisions
and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the
organization.
Work for Love is governed by
a constitution. The final and overall responsibility for the
organization and its policy decisions rests with the Work for
Love Management Team:
